“The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service should not be rewarding Idaho and Montana with funding from the Pittman-Robertson Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration or the Sport Fish Restoration Acts. Their wolf extermination campaigns violate the intent of these laws developed to conserve and protect wildlife. It’s time to re-examine these programs and fund only those that promote coexistence with keystone species.
“That’s why the International Wildlife Coexistence Network has joined with PEER and others in submitting this petition to the Secretary of the Interior demanding that the eligibility of these states be subject to public comment and review as to whether their game programs are consistent with federal conservation policy.”
